Country girls – Tamworth portrait photography
July 23, 2010 | Category: kids | 14 Comments
I say it everytime, but I just loooove when I get to photograph these two. Love love love love it. Dark eyed, beautiful T and curly haired, freckled little M. Don’t be fooled by the warm glow of the light, It was SUUUUPER chilly and windy when I photographed these girls, but they handled it like pros (when they weren’t laughing at me).

P.s Just a note too, for those curious: I’m not moving until the *end* of the year. You still have time for a Sydney photoshoot, don’t worry!

Country Boys – Tamworth nsw portrait photography
July 22, 2010 | Category: kids | 9 Comments
I don’t know whether it’s the fresh country air or what that does it, but these two little boys are so darn cute and so much fun. Full of energy (and “wild-man” spirit) and not afraid to go jump STRAIGHT into a muddy puddle and get covered in muck. Also not afraid to yank up a massive stick–err, sorry log–and march around with it in case of wild animals, either.

We’re baaaack – Sydney child photography
July 16, 2010 | Category: kids | 4 Comments
You may (or may not!) have noticed I’ve been pretty quiet over the last couple of weeks. Well, I’m back from Tamworth (again) and can’t wait to share with you the photoshoot I did up there. For now though, here is a photograph of two of my three crazy little girls. Can you believe Lilly (the younger one) LICKED her sisters face to get her to laugh? Cheeky.

I think I’m all caught up with emails and phone calls, but if I’ve somehow missed you please feel free to contact me again.

Five minutes and a headband – Sydney Bankstown portrait photographer
June 24, 2010 | Category: kids | 8 Comments
That’s what I had. Five minutes before the light disappeared. A headband that was sitting on my dresser as I walked past and caught my eye. And of course, the beautiful and sweet Rhianna, who by now is used to me saying “Come with me for five mins…” and who giggled and conspired with me when we decided to keep these a secret from her Mum until she saw them on my blog
Rhianna you are so lovely inside & out, but please PLEASE stop growing up.

Brother and sister on a lovely afternoon – Bankstown Sydney children’s photography
June 22, 2010 | Category: family, kids | 5 Comments
I first met big brother when he was only 8 months old for his first photosession. I had one of those images up on my website for a long time! He was the “baby sitting in a box” shot and it has always been one of my favourites. So I was very happy when his lovely Mum called me to schedule another session, this time with his little sister. Little sister, I thought? But he’s only a baby! Oh no… Mr “S” is now a BIG boy of nearly 5 years, while little sister “S” is 2. They had such different personalities, it was so interesting to watch!
Can you believe she is actually yelling “Cheese!!!” here?!

YARN magazine, FELT magazine & EMBELLISH magazine PREVIEWS – Sydney commercial editorial photography
June 4, 2010 | Category: commercial, kids, not kids | 5 Comments
The new issues of Yarn, Felt and Embellish magazines are hitting the stands, so I can now share some of the images shot for these issues
As always, I am just the photographer for the mags, so if you are interested in purchasing please see their website for more info or to purchase your copies. Most newsagents in Australia sell them, and I hear that there are now retailers in the States selling issues too.
First up, Yarn mag:
Guess who these beautiful models are?
I shot these first images back in dec or january when it was soooo hot! Zoe was only just starting to sit up too. This pattern is “My little chicken hat” by Marilyn Benstead.

This next pattern is “Play Tea Set” by Marika Simon.

“Seriously Warm Socks” by Melissa Deutsch Scott.

“Alpine Mist Jacket” by Judith Schmolzer (which I think should be called “Seriously AMAZING Alpine Mist Jacket” because that thing is so detailed!).

“Enchanted Tea Cosy” by Sue Flynn.

“Sugar & Spice Girls Cardigans” by Heirloom.

EMBELLISH magazine:
Flower Power by Jenny Dowde (I believe it is just the techniques, not the bag.)

“Singing in the Apple Tree” by Simone Gooding.

“Pretty Revamps” by Renate Kirkpartrick.

FELT magazine:
Look at miss Maddy being a monkey in the tree
Project is “Sunflower Tote Bag” by Samantha Pope.

Not all of the projects in the issues are shown, as some items are not photographed by me (particularily in the case of embellish & felt).
As always, for more information see the Artwear publications website. All images are © Amanda Keeys Photography for ARTWEAR PUBLICATIONS.

May 26, 2010 | Category: commercial, kids | 28 Comments
Several weeks back, one of the editors for Cookie World magazine (china) contacted me about featuring my photographs in their gorgeous magazine. It’s really too bad I can’t understand Chinese, because this magazine looks adorable and the titles (which are in english) alone make me want to give it a read! My copies of the magazine arrived last week, and it’s been so much fun flicking through trying to work out what it might say hehe. Unfortunately I don’t think you can readily purchase Cookie World here in Australia. I do seem to recall seeing it in a newsagent (or perhaps a Borders?) sometime, and you can view their website and their blog (although again it is in Chinese) and take a look at their cute cover below, and see the pages that I’m featured on.
Please forgive Lilly’s disheveled appearance. We’d just gotten in from a very long (and very wet!) day out.

Finally, thanks to my new friend Zouyunli for featuring me, it was lovely to work with you
